Advancements in Testing and Design
In the event of a post-crash fire, seconds matter, and minutes mean the world. Fire-blocking materials can buy an additional 60 seconds or more in the event of a fire following a crash. We’re striving everyday to develop materials and seating options that are truly self-extinguishing that have a minimal burn rate in the event of a post-crash fire that cannot be extinguished.
Industry-Leading Facility & Staff
Blue Flame Lab serves both private and commercial aircraft operators, as well as OEMs, MRO facilities, completion centers, and outfitters. Our facility has FAA DERs and DARs (Designated Airworthiness Representatives) on staff, with authority to perform conformity inspections, witness testing, and to issue FAA Form 8110-3 flammability certification documentation. We have a DER on staff with the authority to issue TSO amendments.

We also have a complete upholstery department to construct cushion configurations in-house with customer suppled material for complete testing in our lab.
